Our Sentiments
Mothering and Life in General
Author
I used to write as a teenager but stopped as life got busy as I grew into adulthood. I used to write about a range of topics from Sexual Abuse to I-Loved-Him-and-Lost-Him poetry. I was amateur, still am, however writing gets my mind to slow down, sometimes to stop, it lets me allow what is really important to come. Writing lets my mind settle, I forgot this as life happened.
My first writing and introduction to blogging was the NICU Experience, back in November 2009. This was a long and frightening process; to re-live what has effected me for so long. Then to post for all to read. This post is my best one, yet is the more haunting one. I am glad that I did it, it started me writing again, and I have received a lot of great feedback from others who either have been there or can relate. Most of all I am beginning to tell our story.
The focus here is not to only write, but to find like-minded people and to share thoughtful and helpful information back and forth. Since I am a SAHM/WAHM, adult time does not really happen often throughout my day or even through a week.
That being said, a lot of the writing I do reflect what I think is important in my family. I believe in the quality of Breastmilk and Attachment Parenting. I am a student in AP not a teacher and often look to other AP mothers, who have paved the road ahead, for support. I stay clear of sleep training, Crying ‘it’ Out, and other situations not proven with science. I open myself to the endless possibilities that nature really did know what is best.
My goal now is raising our Daughter and becoming a IBCLC to help other mothers and their babies to have the same experience as my Daughter and I do.
